Brass, pewter, and what looks like ivory enamel, are inlaid into fancy grained walnut in this 1860's Boulle work Jewelry Box. The interior is royal purple velvet. The box is nicely constructed with small, high quality intricate cut-outs. As in most boulle pieces, there are some losses of inlay. Luckily, the damages seem to blend in with the rest of the box and are mostly in the back of the box. Click on the photo above to see our detail photos of this box.
