Fine British Campaign Box ca. 1850. The box is rosewood with the typical campaign inset brasses. The interior is fitted for sewing or jewelry. The inside of the lid has a mirror. Behind the mirror is space for keeping documents or other flat items. There is a drawer at the bottom. The rosewood has a magnificent grain and the box is in very good condition. There is some slight shrinkage of the wood as shown in the photo above. The box closes completely, and looks very acceptable. There are also a couple of small cracks in the rosewood on the upper left hand corner of the box near the corner brass. These imperfections are very minor and are consistent with a well cared for antique of this age. Dimensions: 10 1/4 " W., 7 1/2 " H., 5 " H.
